Softwares

Software is a collection of programs that can be developed by a group of instructions written in the programming language. 

Software is available in different versions and features. Computer viruses or malware can affect the performance of the software. The software can be updated through internet connectivity or reinstalled with a newly updated version. 

Categories of Software:

System Software:- 

The software which is able to operate a system. Eg. OS on PC.

An operating system is system software that is responsible for the management of computer hardware, and software resources and provides requested services demanded by computer programs. 

Device Driver: -

Device drivers are the software that makes a hardware run. 

 Eg:- To Operate and control Bluetooth hardware Circuits software required that is  

 Bluetooth Driver. Some other hardware drivers are WiFi Driver, Display Driver,s, etc.

  Driver, Audio Driver.

Language Translators:-

These types of software are capable of translating one form of language into another form of language 

1. Compiler:-  Compiler can convert high-level language into low-level language. Compiler
                          can convert the whole computer program from a high level to a low level.

2. Interpreter:- Interpreter can convert high-level language into low-level language. The   
                     the interpreter converts a program line by line from the high level to a low level.

3. Assembler:-  Assembler can convert assembly language into low-level language.


Application Softwares

The computer software that we use to do some work on a computer is called the application 

software. This software is specially designed to do a specific job/task at a time 


Database Management System (DBMS):- Oracle, MS SQL, MS Access, etc

DTP (Desktop Publishing):- Photoshop, Corel Draw, etc.

Word processor:- MS WORD, MS PowerPoint, Notepad, Word pad, etc.
